Cornish Animal Welfare Fund

The Cornwall Animal Welfare Fund came into being in 2020, to help the many small voluntary animal rescue centres and sanctuaries throughout Cornwall, that were struggling to raise funds because of Covid 19 pandemic.
Founded by Kevin Sansom who has worked in the voluntary and charity sectors for more than 30 years and supported by a team of trustees and volunteers, CAWF was able to rent a shop in Meneage St. in Helston, Cornwall.Through funds raised from the shop sales of clothing, books, shoes and bric a brac etc., CAWF was able to donate over £6,000 in its first year to the 11 animal charities that it currently supports, despite losing nearly three months closed due to the Covid 19 'lockdowns'.
We only have one paid member of staff, who is our shop manager, everyone else associated with CAWF are volunteers. A list of the 11 Cornish animal charities that we currently support can be found on our shop door and on the wall behind the counter.
